I heard about APRC from a sister at my church (Blueprint). She had attended a volunteer training and was sharing information with our small group. As she spoke about the Center's mission and the service they provided I knew I had to find out more, so I came to the fall volunteer orientation in November 2015. I decided to get involved because I needed to take a stand. I was raised in a Christian home and had reaffirmed my commitment to the Lord in 2005. Because I worked in women's health, I had believed the lie that "abortion is a woman's personal choice" and had even held the view myself that although I was "pro-life", others could make the choice for themselves. But over the last several years, the Lord had been renewing my mind on this matter. I was convinced of God's viewpoint at the orientation. I am still so thankful that by God's grace, I have never been involved in an abortion, though my heart breaks for my colleagues who have and still are performing abortions.
How long have you been volunteering at APRC, and in what capacity?
After several months of procrastination, I did complete my volunteer application in January of 2016 and started training as a client coordinator.
What has your experience been like as a volunteer?
I have appreciated the depth of the training and the focus on evangelism. I have enjoyed getting to know other volunteers.
What are you looking forward to as you begin serving as the Medical Director?
I am looking forward to what the Lord has in store. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and relying on His wisdom and guidance.
As the Medical Director, Dr. Guyton will provide oversight for APRC’s limited medical services and programs ensuring that we remain relevant and provide the highest quality of care. *Dr. Guyton's comments were edited for space, clarity, or confidentiality.

We are so grateful for the generous
support of our ministry partners!
Our goal for this campaign was $25,000.
While the campaign has ended, you
can still make a tax-deductible donation here.
We not only provide intervention services, but prevention as well through Sexual Risk Avoidance Education. We have several speakers available to talk to both large and small groups, for panel discussions, or to facilitate studies and workshops. You could also host or schedule a service project at APRC, during which we would guide thought provoking conversation from a Biblical perspective. Learn more about SRA here.
Thank you for your prayers, time, efforts, and financial support! The work of APRC would not be the same without you. May God bless your family!
